NPL Training’s ‘Measurement Explained‘ e-learning course is a collection of free, short modules covering a range of introductory measurement principles. We are happy to announce that we have recently added two new modules to this series:
- Time and Frequency Metrology: This module introduces time and frequency measurement, and the role that measuring time plays in our society. In this module, we examine the second (the SI unit for time), and how timekeeping has evolved over the years.
- Mass Metrology: This module introduces mass measurement. The module starts with a brief introduction to the kilogram (the SI unit for mass) before exploring fundamental principles of mass, weight, and important derived quantities. This module also looks at practical considerations for conducting, analysing and reporting mass measurements.
‘Measurement Explained’ has been designed for people who are new to metrology and have an interest in introductory measurement principles. The modules within the ‘Measurement Explained’ e-learning collection introduce some key concepts in measurement and prepare learners for further courses in more complex areas. The ‘Measurement Explained’ series currently includes seven modules, as follows:
- Measurement and Metrology
- Measurement Uncertainty
- Instrumentation and Sensors
- Dimensional Measurement
- Electrical Measurement
- Time and Frequency Metrology
- Mass Metrology
The modules within the ‘Measurement Explained’ series are designed as short, stand-alone modules that learners can complete depending on their area of interest, or learners can choose to complete them all! Please register on our ‘Measurement Explained’ e-learning course to start accessing the modules.
