NPL apprenticeships deliver measurement skills for a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing. We are a government approved apprenticeship training provider, and we deliver apprenticeship training to levy paying employers in England via the apprenticeship service. The Level 3 Metrology Technician Standard was approved for delivery in August 2017 and is the first nationally recognised standard on metrology, the science of measurement.
This new apprenticeship standard was developed by the Metrology Trailblazer, an employer group chaired by NPL, to ensure an apprenticeship of high quality and a focus on the right knowledge, skills and behaviours of the workforce.

Are you a training provider looking to get involved in training apprentices?
NPL’s level 3 training programme is available to licence by other apprenticeship training providers in full or on a module by module basis. The curriculum is suitable for inclusion within other manufacturing, engineering, health and life science apprenticeship programmes that require a metrology focus.
