Bespoke training

NPL offers bespoke training around Composites Standards and Certification. We offer lecture content, delivered flexibly in-person or virtually, that:

  • Provide learners with with an understanding of the needs for suitable Regulations, Codes and Standards (RCS) for composite materials.
  • Give learners an overview of the certification process of composite structures in a number of industry sectors.
  • Enable learners to analyse qualification test data and obtain appropriate design data.

There are also three practical sessions, delivered in-person in Teddington, on:

  • Interpretation and application of BS EN ISO 14126 Fibre-reinforced plastic composites – Determination of compressive properties in the in-place direction.
  • Calculation of B-basis values for longitudinal compression strength of a carbon epoxy pre-preg material.
  • Development of a basic qualification programme for a deep-water composite riser.

Who is it for?

For those that want to upskill and deepen their knowledge of how standards are developed and utilised to measure and certify the performance and design of composite materials and structures.
