Course description

This course currently consists of an introductory video followed by multiple choice questions. It will be extended in the future with the addition of further modules. The video gives an introduction to machine learning (ML), a branch of artificial intelligence that is based on the idea that computers can learn patterns, rules or structure from data without being given specific instructions about the task they are performing. It also:

  • Outlines the basic terminology associated with ML
  • Introduces different types of ML
  • Discusses how ML can be applied to metrology applications and, conversely, how metrology principles could be applied to ML to ensure confidence in ML outputs and why this is important

Who is it for?

Suitable for individuals who would like to learn about the basics of machine learning and how it could be applied to metrology applications.
