Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing to BS 8888 and ISO Standards: Level 2

Specialism: Dimensional

Skill Level: Intermediate Level

Delivery Method: Classroom

Duration: 3 days

Course Status: Available

Price: £750.00 plus VAT (£900.00 inc VAT)

Course description

This is an intensive three-day course in geometrical tolerancing, which follows on from, and builds upon, the Level 1 course. Delegates should be familiar with the conventions of engineering drawing, such as projections, cross sections, representations of features such as screw threads, dimensions and ± or limit tolerances. Delegates should also have completed the Geometrical Tolerancing Level 1 course.

Note: This course is available for ASME Y14.5 or BS 8888 and ISO standards.

Participation:

To join the sessions you will need a device with internet access, a webcam, speakers and microphone. Most laptops and tablets are suitably equipped for this. Desktop PCs may require a plug-in webcam, microphone and speakers (or headset). If necessary, it is possible to connect through a PC for the video and use a telephone for audio, but this does not always work so well.

You will also need a calculator for one of the workbook exercises, with a square root and x2 function; any scientific calculator, smartphone calculator app, or even the windows calculator can be used for this.

Delivery:

The course will be delivered as three live sessions each day, each lasting between 1½ and 1¾ hours, on four consecutive days. The sessions will be delivered on the Zoom video conferencing system, which is easy to use. Instructions on how to join the sessions with Zoom will be provided.

Course schedule:

Each day will consist of three sessions as follows:

  • 09:00 – 10:45
  • 11:00 – 12:45
  • 14:00 – 15:45

Registration:

If you wish to register, click on the ‘Book’ button under the dates section of this page, download and complete the form. The completed from will need to be emailed or sent by post. We will need your full postal address in order to send out course notes in advance, and an email address to send the Zoom invitations to.

Who is it for?

For anyone who needs to understand the theory and practice of geometrical tolerancing. Designers, manufacturing engineers and technicians, quality control and inspection staff. Delegates should be familiar with the conventions of engineering drawing, such as projections, cross sections, representations of features such as screw threads, dimensions and ± or limit tolerances. Delegates should also have completed the Geometrical Tolerancing Level 1 course.
